The Music Place philosophy has always been to combine dedication and enjoyment to produce well rounded musicians. We believe the best results come from a friendly and welcoming environment. But if you think all that fun means we don’t kick bottom when it comes to respected exam boards, think again.

For many years, The Music Place has been as ABRSM centre, meaning students are able to take their music exams in a familiar and friendly environment, surrounded by the place and the people that they know. We run three ABRSM exam sessions each year, with around 120 students taking and passing their exams at The Music Place every year. Not only do we provide the place, we provide … Michael- music place piano teacher and accompanist extraordinaire. Michael works as an accompanist at the RNCM and performs throughout the country as an amazing and sought after freelance accompanist. Each of our exam entrants is accompanied by Michael and gets a rehearsal with him before the big day. We are also very grateful to Cheshire Pianos who keep all of our pianos tuned and in tip top shape ready for exam practice and exam days.

As well as being a dedicated exam centre, The Music Place runs weekly theory classes, allowing students to work towards, in particular, Grade 5 theory, which is needed to complete practical exams at grades 6-8.

Last week, all of our teachers’ and students’ hard work paid off as we received a fantastic set of results from our last round of ABRSM exams! With 100% pass rate and some really great marks across the board, we couldn’t be prouder of our students’ progress!

Have a lovely week everyone!
