Here at The Music Place, we handpick the best musicians and music teachers from across the country, and they get up to some pretty exciting stuff on their days off teaching! From Donny Osmond to Queen, Lily Allen to Tom Jones, our teachers have performed with some of the best musicians in the world. And last weekend was no different, as Music Place drum teacher and band-leader, John Dagnall, played again with soul and Motown royalty, Tito Jackson!
Tito was an original member of The Jackson Five and The Jacksons, who churned out hit after hit in the late sixties and seventies with tracks such as I want you back, ABC and Blame it on the Boogie. He later recorded as a solo artist on the Epic label in the late seventies and eighties.
John was honoured and excited to be performing with such an icon of soul and disco music and to get to know Tito himself, ‘the lovely legend and great guitarist that he is’, as John puts it. The setlist included several of The Jacksons’ classics, along with five tracks from Tito’s latest album ‘Tito Time’.
We’re very proud of John and all of our teachers; they really are the very best in the biz!
Have a lovey week everyone!
