Iain Dixon.

Iain Dixon began his musical story in Lancashire, where, as a child, he learned tenor saxophone and clarinet before attending the Royal Northern College of Music. Following this, Iain moved to London where he played with the BBC Radio Orchestra and Big Band for eight years before becoming freelance. Iain has performed in numerous ensembles throughout his career, including his own bands, and has worked and toured with artists such as Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Perter Erskine and Mike Gibbs, all of whom he toured with as a member of the Creative Jazz Orchestra collective. As a session musician, Iain has featured on several albums with artists including Joni Mitchel and Primal Scream. We’re very grateful to have Iain back on the Summer School team this year!
